Letter from the President

Hello and Welcome! As the proud President of the Sigma Rho chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi, I am honored to share our organization and the essence of our sisterhood at Slippery Rock University. Alpha Omicron Pi was founded in 1897 by our incredible founders, Stella, Helen, Elizabeth, and Jessie, and our chapter was brought to Slippery Rock University's campus in 1966. Our sisters believe in the value of women empowering each other through love, service, and a commitment to personal and collective growth. We are more than just an organization; we are a vibrant community of strong, ambitious, and compassionate women who uplift and support one another in every aspect of life.At the core of our values lies a mission to foster a sisterhood that encourages personal growth, academic excellence, and a dedication to positively contributing to our college campus and the wider community. We strive to create a safe and inclusive space where every member feels valued, heard, and supported. By embracing diversity and celebrating individual strengths, we cultivate an environment where each sister can thrive, knowing she has a network of women who genuinely care for her well-being. Our commitment to service extends beyond the confines of our organization. Through various philanthropic and community service initiatives, we actively contribute to making a positive impact on both our college campus and the surrounding community. We believe in the power of collective action and the ability of women to effect real change. As college students, we are on a constant journey of self-discovery and personal development. Within our sorority, we encourage and support one another in setting and achieving our goals. From academic achievements to personal milestones, we celebrate the accomplishments of our sisters and provide guidance and encouragement during times of challenge. Beyond our college years, we understand the importance of preparing our members to be responsible, compassionate citizens.
